Viewing

  • Kulus will play in the following browsers: Internet Explorer 6+, Safari 2+, Google Chrome 2+, Firefox 2+
  • Browser requirements: JavaScript and Flash Player plug-in version 9.0.115 or higher
  • Mobile devices: iPad versions 1 & 2, BlackBerry running firmware 6.0.0.480 or higher, Android devices running Android 2.2 or higher
  • Mobile video only: iPhone (versions 3, 3S and 4) and BlackBerry (running firmware 4 or higher)

Creation

  • Kulus can be created in the following browsers: Internet Explorer 6+, Safari 2+, Google Chrome 2+, Firefox 2+
  • Browser requirements: JavaScript and Flash player plug-in version 9.0.115 or higher
  • If you are using the Kulu platform to create content and are behind a company firewall, the following protocols need to be permitted: RTMP, RTMPS, RTMPE, RTMPT connections on port 80, and/or port 443
  • USB class webcam or video source presented to Flash Player plug-in
  • If you are not recording audio through the camera microphone then a separate microphone connected to the desktop is required for capturing audio-only presentations
  • Video and audio files can be uploaded directly into the Kulu platform, see below for the supported formats

Supported Formats

  • Video formats supported for upload: Flash Video FLV, MPEG-4 (MP4), Windows Media Video (WMV), Audio Video Interleave (AVI), Apple QuickTime (MOV), 3GP
  • Audio formats supported for upload: MPEG1 or MPEG3 Audio Layer III (MP3), Waveform Audio File Format (WAV), Windows Media Audio (WMA), Adaptive Multi-Rate audio codec, i.e. recorded audio from a mobile device such as a Blackberry (AMR)
  • Synchronised slide formats: Microsoft Office PowerPoint (PPT, PPTX), Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF), image files (JPG, PNG, GIF)
  • Downloadable files can be added to a Kulu; the allowed file formats are configurable per customer requirements

Integration

  • Support for email, web sharing and content syndication – RSS, MRSS, API or Kulu display widget are available to easily display Kulu’s wherever you want
  • Embed individual pieces of content using the embed code available in the player, adjust and refine playback behaviour (such as size) by specifying additional URL parameters
  • Easy to build listings widgets that list and display content in a variety of ways makes embedding your content in your site fast and easy
  • Easy to use API available as both a SOAP and REST-based webservice that supports a number of standard authentication mechanisms
  • Integration with alternative major CDN providers available on request (Limelight, Akamai, Level3); we can also work with a customer’s existing CDN arrangements if preferred
  • We integrate our security with the CDN so that your content is always protected
  • Quick and easy integration with Google Analytics, use your own GA account in parallel with Kulu Valley’s reporting tools
  • Integration with Omniture’s reporting tools available on request
